Fans flock to Quarry farmers market .

Serious and not-so-serious foodies will find a mix of local and regional farmers and food artisans that includes the family-owned Frio Farm from Concan, a small enterprise whose specialties include artisan extracts and fresh churned butter in several flavors; Youngblood Honey from Pearsall; gourmet tamales from the Gardener's Feast; spicy Korean kimchi from OK Kimchi in Austin; assorted dips and foods from Nisha's Flavors of India in Houston; Olive Frites, sweet potato and russet potato fries and dips; and three kinds of Spanish-style chorizo by Spanish-born Ignacio Gallego and his wife Marisa Bushman, musicians with the San Antonio Symphony.
Hunter is particularly proud of people who have launched businesses in part because of their success at the market.
Brothers Jose and David Caceresof La Panadería opened a bakery at 8305 Broadway in April. They began selling their bread at the Quarry in November and are still there, selling out every Sunday, in addition to their new bricks-and-mortar store.
"We've been welcomed so warmly by this community that we couldn't be happier,'' Jose Caceres said.
